Investment Management - Everything Financial

Investment Management

The intelligent path forward

Everything Financial has relationships with several wealth management companies that oversee and design our clients’ investment portfolios. Each one has been hand-selected and vetted to ensure they meet the expectations and standards we uphold. Their sole responsibility is to maximize our clients’ growth and returns – and this allows our wealth management specialists to focus on creating complete, holistic Omni Formula plans and to provide exceptional customer service.

Reduce your management fees

Our portfolio managers charge a management fee of 1.5-2.25%, from which Everything Financial receives a service fee of up to 1% (which reduces as your wealth grows.) Our rates are among the lowest in the industry and could save you hundreds of thousands over a lifetime. And since Everything Financial receives the same rate from each provider we work with, we’re not biased toward any one provider, ensuring we truly pick the best solution for your needs.

What's the difference between “fee-based financial planning” and a “commission-based advisor”?

Many firms claiming to provide expert financial advice are led by commission-based representatives selling products with no incentive to build you a long-term financial plan. At Everything Financial, we are Registered Financial Planners (RFP®), a designation for those who have proven their ability to navigate complex financial strategies and to provide a comprehensive planning process for your lasting success.

How it works

A Financial Advisor is your planning partner and will guide you through your financial journey. Together, you and your Advisor will go through the Omni Formula process and cover many topics to help you reach your destination; including the amount of money you should save, the types of accounts you need, the kinds of insurance you should have (long-term care, term life, critical illness, disability, extended medical), and estate and tax planning. Your Financial Advisor is also an Educator, it is their job to help you understand what is required to meet your future goals. The education process includes detailed help across all financial topics. At the beginning of our relationship those topics could be budgeting and saving, and as you progress it may shift to tax planning, complex investments and insurance.

We have relationships with a number of wealth management companies that oversee and design our clients’ investment portfolios, each company has dedicated portfolio managers. We will determine which company to partner you with, based on the amount of money you are investing. Your portfolio manager will build and maintain your investment account. They have a fiduciary duty to act with care, honesty and good faith, always in the best interest of their clients. Portfolio managers provide ongoing management of your investment based on your objectives and risk tolerance outlined in your Investment Policy Statement (IPS): An individual written agreement established to set out how you will work with your portfolio manager, including ongoing communication, types of investments, reporting, fees, risks and other issues related to your own circumstances.

For complete safety and security, all client investments are held with a custodian, typically the Laurentian Bank of Canada for most of our clients. A custodian is a financial institution that holds customers’ securities (investments) for safekeeping to minimize the risk of theft or loss. That means if anything happens to Everything Financial or your assigned wealth management company, your money is safe and sound. Custodians tend to be large, reputable firms, commonly referred to as “custodian bank’. Funds are protected by the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF).
